The maiden Girls in ICT for tertiary students ended yesterday with 50 young women trained.

Even though the time allotted for the training was short, I am satisfied with how the ladies comported themselves during the training sessions.

Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Scratch (Game &Dialogue)modules have been incorporated into the Girls-In-ICT Initiative and going forward will become one of the prominent features of the initiative.

The 8 days training was aimed at giving the ladies exposure to the world of possibilities through ICTs. The ICT sector demands the full involvement of enterprising ladies occupying positions that will enable them to impact society.

The beneficiaries were awarded certificates of participation, tablets, laptops, and other accessories sponsored by Huawei Technologies.

The Ministry will continue to pursue innovative ways of bridging the digital gender divide as fast as we can.
